描述
Vasopressin, also known as arginine vasopressin (AVP), is a hypothalamic nonapeptide hormone constructed of nine amino acids (Cys?Tyr?Phe?Gln?Asn?Cys?Pro?Arg?Gly?NH?) with a disulfide bridge between Cys1?Cys6. It plays critical roles in fluid homeostasis by promoting water reabsorption in the kidneys and increasing systemic vascular resistance via vasoconstriction through V? receptors.
Our research-grade Vasopressin is manufactured in a GMP-compliant peptide synthesis facility, tested to ?99.23% purity by HPLC, and provided with full Certificate of Analysis (COA) for traceability. It is supplied as white to off-white lyophilized powder.

Mechanism of Action & Research Applications
Vasopressin acts via V? receptors on vascular smooth muscle to induce vasoconstriction, increasing systemic vascular resistance without direct inotropic effect, and via V? receptors in kidneys to enhance water retention. It also functions as a neuromodulator in CNS and influences social behavior.
Ideal applications include:
-
Cardiovascular and blood pressure regulation studies
-
Renal physiology research and water-handling in nephron models
-
GPCR pharmacology targeting V?, V?, and V?b receptor subtypes
-
Behavioral studies involving social or stress responses
-
Shock, sepsis, and fluid balance models
High purity and GMP-grade production support reproducible preclinical research workflows.
Side Effects (For Laboratory Reference Only)
In animal or cell models, Vasopressin may produce:
-
Vasoconstriction and increased blood pressure
-
Reduced heart rate (reflex bradycardia)
-
Enhanced water retention and reduced urine volume
-
Alterations in electrolyte balance and hormonal axis
Dose titration and ethical protocols advised for in vivo applications.
