Description
Prednisone acetate is a synthetic glucocorticoid ester that acts by binding to glucocorticoid receptors, modulating gene expression to suppress inflammatory and immune responses. It is metabolized in the liver to active prednisolone, which then exerts anti-inflammatory, immunosuppressive, and anti-proliferative effects via glucocorticoid receptor signaling (e.g. JAK/STAT, NF??B pathways). In research, it is used to model immune suppression, inflammatory disease, organ protection, endocrine regulation, and pharmacokinetic studies. For laboratory research use only.

Mechanism of Action & Research Applications
Prednisone acetate acts through glucocorticoid receptor agonism, leading to decreased vascular permeability, inhibition of leukocyte migration, and suppression of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL?1, IL?2, and TNF??. In experimental research, it’s applied to inflammation and immunosuppression modeling, transplantation rejection studies, endocrine-immunologic modulation, and pharmacodynamic assay design.
Side Effects (For Reference Only in Research Models)
Clinical analogs reveal adverse effects including hyperglycemia, muscle weakness, corticosteroid-induced osteoporosis, hypertension, increased risk of infection, psychiatric symptoms, weight gain, electrolyte imbalance, cataracts and skin thinning—important for safety and dosage calibration in experimental settings.
Disclaimer
