Mechanism of Action
Bleomycin A5 intercalates into DNA and, in the presence of metal ions and oxygen, produces reactive oxygen species to induce strand breaks—triggering apoptosis and cell death. It exerts effects during the G2 phase of the cell cycle and shares cytotoxic pathways with bleomycin A2/B2 .
